In an ill-considered post I wrote in November, I opined that Rock Band would meet with ‘epic fail’. What were my objections? Was it the initial bundle price, or the inconvenience of having a cubic meter of polystyrene clutter to constantly contend with, or was it something deeper and more psychologically telling? Could it have been simply stage-fright?
I like to admit that I was wrong; it proves my humanity and elevates my spirit to some saintly cumulus perch, from upon which I can lavish benign scorn upon the pig-headed, unwashed masses.
And wow, was I wrong about Rock Band.
I can’t but wonder now at the origin of my mis-givings, but everything you’ve heard about Rock Band and the transcendant state that the multiplayer can induce is true. They nailed it (and I haven’t even gotten the drums yet!).
